- In May 2006, 8 children in Year 2 were assessed. The following graphs show their achievement compared to the national average.
SATs Tasks and Test Results - May 2006 Percentage of children achieving each level

- These graphs show that the Sherington results for this group exceeded the national and local average in every case. In each category (Reading Comprehension, Writing and Mathematics) all 8 children achieved or exceeded Level 2 (the average for a typical 7 year old)
- Caution should be exercised when interpreting the SATs results for small schools like Sherington. Because there were only 8 children in this group, each individual child represents 12.5%. The small numbers involved mean that this group is not necessarily a statistically representative sample from the entire national population. Also, a variation in the results from year to year can be expected, as the children involved will form a different sample each time.
- Sherington School treats each pupil as an individual, rather than an average statistic, and is committed to ensuring that each and every child realises their maximum potential irrespective of their inherent abilities.
