Sherington CE School
  Music
School photo
  • Music at Sherington is a practical and enjoyable activity. Each class has a weekly music session and the whole school meets for a singing session. However, we sing daily in assemblies and have many special occasions throughout the year, which we celebrate with music. For example, Harvest, Christmas, Mothers Day and Leavers Assembly. The school is well resourced with a wide variety of percussion instruments.
  • Through their musical activities the children learn to listen to and appreciate a range of music, sing to different audiences, compose their own music, perform their own music and accompany music with percussion.

Ofsted 2001: "Standards in singing are above the expectations for this age. Pupils are confident playing untuned percussion instruments."
