- We encourage all our children to enjoy IT and gain a sound basis in skills, knowledge and understanding whilst they are at Sherington.
- In IT the children learn how to use computers, printers, scanners, digital cameras and programmable robots - Roamer and Bee-Bots. They learn about the important role IT plays in our everyday lives.
- IT skills are taught through specific IT sessions throughout the year, but increasingly IT knowledge and understanding is used through other subjects. For example, maths software may be used to support or reinforce the teaching of a specific mathematical skill, a graphics programme may be used in art or design & technology lessons, emails may be used in a literacy lesson on 'letter writing' or the internet may be used to research information needed for a historical topic.
- We have a high ratio of computers to pupils at Sherington. Pupils have access to 10 ‘windows’ based, internet connected computers, two laptops (connected to our interactive whiteboards) and one additional curriculum computer.
- Both classrooms have an interactive whiteboard and staff and pupils have access to a linked laptop.
