Sherington CE School
  Geography
Much of our fieldwork takes place within the safe confines of the village
  • Geography at Sherington is taught whenever possible, through direct experience. The school grounds and the village are used as the basis of geographical study with the younger children. The younger children have a group of 'bears' who record their travels and are used to develop geographical vocabulary and knowledge. The older pupils investigate Milton Keynes, the British Isles and the wider world. Contrasts are made between Sherington and these different areas.
  • Through our geographical studies the children develop their directional skills. They learn to use plans, maps and globes. Key geographical features and vocabulary are, also, developed.
