- You can read the messages as a 'guest' without logging in. If you want to post your own messages you will need to register as a user of the service and login. Whilst you have to register a valid email address (for security purposes), you can use a nickname in the forum if you wish.
- The messages are organised by topic (sometimes called threads). Whilst you can always start a new topic, if your message relates to an existing topic it is preferable to add it to that rather than start a new one. This keeps things tidier and makes it easier for readers to find the messages on topics that interest them.
- What messages can you post? Provided they are legal and do not cause offence, almost anything you like. Announce your new baby or engagement, find other residents who share the same hobby or interests, thank your neighbours for their help, or discuss the village facilities and suggest how they can be improved. At least one of the Parish Councillors will be reading any suggestions, so this is a chance to influence how your village evolves. You can even leave messages saying how good the Sherington web site is, or what feature you would like improving or adding, if you would rather not email us.
- The forum is hosted by UK Villages Online. You can read (and take part in) the forums for other villages who are using this service by clicking on the 'villages online' link in the Explorer type tree at the top left corner of the table. Similarly, they can take part in Sherington's forum.
- Please use the service responsibly. All messages must be suitable for a general audience. The service will be monitored. Irresponsible users will be banned and reported to their ISP, and their messages removed. It is a condition of using the service that the person who posts the message accepts full responsibility for its contents.
