The St Andrew's and Sherington Church of England Schools' Partnership

  Science

  • The children at Sherington complete a science-based study each half term. Science work is a reflection of science in the real world and is investigated through first-hand experiences. The children are taught to develop their scientific thinking skills and knowledge. They are then given opportunity to communicate these skills and knowledge with others through discussions.

  • Science work also develops curiosity, reflection, perseverance, open mindedness, creativity, inventiveness and sensitivity to living and non-living things.

  Design and Technology

  • We aim to teach the pupils to develop their design and technology skills by developing their planning and making skills to meet specific needs. Each term the children complete design and making tasks, focused practical task and investigations.

  • There are strong links between design and technology and art, maths, science and ICT.
