You are invited to a Village Meeting to discuss the future of Village Facilities in Sherington
- Changes in economic conditions and the way in which we all live our lives means that facilities we value and that make a village thrive are coming under increasing pressure. Pubs, shops and the church are all feeling the strain. Sherington is not unique in facing such difficulties. You will know that the Post Office has temporarily closed and that the Swan Pub is changing hands. Alan and Pam at Virginia House Stores will be retiring in the next few years. Change is inevitable.
- Sherington Parish Council shares the concerns that many of you have voiced. It is very aware of the issues that the village faces. However, these are problems that need to be discussed by the village as a whole to see if there are innovative ways of safeguarding and improving facilities in the future. The village needs your help, energy and ideas to discuss and map out the way forward.
- Sherington Parish Council has decided to sponsor a village meeting.
The Village Hall is booked for 10.30am - 12.00am on Saturday
5th September. Please come along if you have concerns about the essential facilities in the village and how they should develop in the future.
