As you are aware the existing village shop will close on 31st January 2010. The Parish Council sponsored a meeting in the Village Hall on 5th September 2009 to discuss this issue and other related matters. The meeting gave the Parish Council a clear mandate to undertake a viability study to determine if a new village shop could be constructed, funded and a viable business plan developed. As part of that process the Parish Council has submitted a planning application for a new shop, incorporating both a Post Office and café facilities, to Milton Keynes Council. The plan also incorporates adequate on-site car parking to serve both the shop and Village Hall together with appropriate landscape improvements. The site is on Parish Council owned land opposite the Village Hall.
The planning application is now being advertised by Milton Keynes Council and adjacent residents notified under MKC standard consultation procedures. The application can also be viewed online – see below for details. Anyone has the right to submit comments to MKC on the application. These can also be submitted to MKC online.
The Parish Council welcomes any comments you may have: these should be sent in writing only please to Wendy Austyn – Clerk to Sherington Parish Council at 12 Carters Close Sherington or email@example.com.
It is planned to hold another public meeting in the Village Hall to discuss the new Village Shop proposal on a date to be arranged in April, where the plans and other supporting information will be on display and relevant details can be discussed.
